Hand wash gently using mild soap or machine wash on a delicate cycle in a laundry bag. Avoid soaking or using bleach. Line dry in the shade to preserve colors and fabric quality. Use low heat while ironing, and for velvets, always iron along the pile. Dark colors should be washed separately to prevent color transfer. Smocked garments should never be stretched, or wrung to remove excess water.
